Rev. Dr. LaBarron F. McAdoo, Sr.

Pastor LaBarron F. McAdoo Sr was born in Murfreesboro Tennessee April 28, 1964 to the late Thomas E. McAdoo Sr. and the late Gracie M. Hampton. He is the fifth of six children. Pastor McAdoo accepted Christ at age 7 while attending the Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Murfreesboro. He was later baptized at the age of 8 at King Solomon Baptist Church in Nashville TN. After relocating back to Murfreesboro he reunited with the Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he had first confessed Christ and began preparation for the Pastoral Ministry under the Spiritual Fatherhood of Pastor Richard W. Sibert.

Pastor McAdoo is married to the former Miss Angeleatha Allison of Knoxville Tennessee who is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work. Reverend McAdoo is the father of three (3) children, two boys and one girl: LaBarron Jr, Mychal DeJuan and MeKayla Dominique.

Pastor McAdoo acknowledged and responded to the call of the preaching ministry in 1978 while just a freshman in High School. He is a graduate of the American Baptist Theological Seminary and Emmanuel Seminary both of Nashville Tennessee. He is a Doctoral graduate of I.T.S. (Institute of Theolocal Studies), Andersonville Theolocial Seminary, and Liberty University. He holds Doctoral Degrees in two fields of study, Doctor of Theology and Doctor of Ministry. He has attended course studies at Vanderbilt School of Divinity of Nashville: The Urban Alternative Leadership Development Conference in Dallas, TX and various enrichment courses throughout the country.

Pastor McAdoo is currently in his third pastorate as the Senior Pastor of the Union Baptist Church in Wilmington, Delaware. His previous pastorates include the First Baptist Church of Greenville, Kentucky and the Mt. Zion Rucker Missionary Baptist Church of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He has served as assistant-chaplain of the 33rd Street Chapel, 2AD Fort Hood, Texas, assistant pastor of the Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church, and the assistant pastor of the Unity Baptist church of Copperas Cove, Texas.

He is the former president of the Baptist African Americans of Muhlenberg (B.A.A.M.) of Kentucky, former President of the Muhlenberg County chapter of the NAACP and served as 1st Vice Moderator of the Ministers and Deacons Auxiliary of the First District Association in Kentucky. He has served as guest preacher/lecturer for the First District Association of the General Baptist Association of Kentucky, the Missionary Baptist Convention of Tennessee, the Smithfork District association, the General Baptist Convention of Tennessee, and the Southeast Regional Tri-State Primitive Baptist Convention. He has labored in the Tennessee Missionary Baptist Convention’s State offices of Congress/BTU President, Vice President, Dean, Teacher and Youth Director. He has recently served as Moderator of the Mt. Zion Baptist Missionary Association of Delaware and as 1st Vice President of the Congress of Christian Education of the United Baptist Convention of Delaware.

Though the Ministries of the Union Baptist Church are priority, and take up much of his time, Pastor McAdoo remains very active in the community and in various Christian cooperative endeavors at home and abroad.

Pastor McAdoo loves reading, preaching, teaching, and fishing. He is a serious student of the Word and remains committed to the building of a spiritual house of worship where people are developed into a dynamic demonstration of the awesome power of God.
